CES 2024
CES 2025 highlighted the growing influence of Edge AI, automotive technologies, and low-Power IoT applications

VDC attended CES 2025, an event that included more than 4,500 exhibitors viewed by more than 141,000 attendees. Key topics included real-world artificial intelligence applications used to power the Intelligent Edge—resulting from huge investments in AI technology over the past 3-4 years.

Buzzwords defining the far reaches of connected devices and systems at the show included various terms for Edge AI, such as Intelligent Edge, Tiny Edge, Micro AI, and Tiny AI. Small language models power these solutions—referring to models optimized for specific tasks that have the potential to outperform larger models in narrow use cases. These smaller models offer faster results due to lower latency, as data processing occurs closer to the source, whether at the network edge, on-premises, or offline/on-device.
